Yaelle S. Amir has worked as a curator and researcher for over a decade, focusing primarily on socially-engaged photography, video, and installation with a strong focus on community engagement. She has held curatorial and research positions at several institutions including the International Center of Photography, Museum of Modern Art, and New York University’s Institute of Fine Arts. She has curated exhibitions at Artists Space, CUE Art Foundation, Center for Book Arts, Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts, Franklin Street Works, ISE Cultural Foundation, Marginal Utility, and the Wallach Art Gallery at Columbia University, among others. Roy Flukinger is the Senior Research Curator at the Harry Ransom Center at The University of Texas at Austin, where he has served as a curator since 1977. While serving as department head of photography he was responsible for the management of the collections and archives. He has taught and lectured at The University as well as at a variety of other organizations and institutions of higher learning. His most recent publications were on Arnold Newman and on the Center’s Gernsheim Collection, and he has mos recently completed co-curating a gallery-wide exhibition on their Magnum Photos collection. He consults with a variety of institutions and researchers; serves as juror, reviewer and evaluator of contemporary events, groups and support organizations; and continues to assist in research, management, conservation and development matters for the department.

Shane Lavalette is an American photographer, the founding Publisher/Editor of Lavalette, and the Director of Light Work. Richard McCabe received an MFA in Studio Art from Florida State University in 1998. Also in 1998, he received a Fellowship to New York University to attend the American Photography Institute, National Graduate Seminar. Maja Orsic is Director at Robert Klein Gallery, a fine art photography gallery in Boston. He also worked on special exhibition and curatorial projects at institutions in Pittsburgh including: the Carnegie Museum of Art, Society for Contemporary Craft, the Westmoreland Museum of American Art, as well as abroad at: Dulwich Picture Gallery and Tate Modern in London and the Centre Pompidou in Paris.
Following graduation, Showman moved to New Orleans for the gallery assistant position at Jonathan Ferrara Gallery. The gallery is a collective environment of creative visions featuring monthly exhibitions of (inter)national, emerging to established, contemporary artists. Since its inception in 1998, the gallery has focused on forward thinking artists with a sense of purpose, mission, and message. The gallery is known for its stimulating and provocative exhibitions in a wide variety of media, having been featured in The New York Times, Art In America, The Art Newspaper, The Associated Press, ArtNews, NPR and many other international publications.
Showman became the gallery director in the summer of 2013 and has curated numerous exhibitions at the gallery, art fairs (inter)nationally and in alternative spaces throughout the city over the course of his time in Louisiana. He is particularly interested in the way contemporary photographers innovate within the medium, and would like to review projects that fall within the realm of conceptual and/or abstraction.

Joel Smith is the Morgan Library‚Äôs first Richard L. Menschel Curator and head of the department of Photography, founded in 2012. As a curator at Vassar College (1999-2005) and Princeton University (2005-2012), his 25 exhibitions included Histories of Photography (2003); Saul Steinberg: Illuminations (2006); Pictures of Pictures (2010); and The Life and Death of Buildings (2011). At the Morgan, he has curated A Collective Invention: Photographs at Play (2014); From Here to Here: Richard McGuire Makes a Book (2014); Hidden Likeness: Emmet Gowin at the Morgan (2105); and the upcoming Sight Reading: Photography and the Legible World (Feb. 2016), a collaborative venture with Eastman House. Tim B. Wride is the William and Sarah Ross Soter Curator of Photography at the Norton Museum of Art in West Palm Beach, Florida. Since joining the museum in 2012, Tim has originated exhibitions that have highlighted Florida photographers and coordinated the inaugural Rudin Prize which showcases contemporary photographers. He is currently working on an exhibition about Photography and the Everglades.
Prior to joining the Norton Museum, Tim was a Curator in the Department of Photographs at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) for 14 years, Tim curated over 50 exhibitions, authored and contributed to a dozen books, and has lectured, participated in panels, juried exhibitions, and provided portfolio reviews internationally. In 2004, Tim became the founding Executive Director of the No Strings Foundation, a Los Angeles-based non-profit that provides individual artist grants to U.S. photographers.
Tim is a voracious consumer of photographic images. He likes nothing better than to look at photographs and talk to smart photographers about their work.
