There are several opportunities for artists to participate in PhotoNOLA, from taking part in our two-day online portfolio review to exhibiting work in solo, group, and juried exhibitions during the festival.
Submit an Exhibition Proposal
Each year PhotoNOLA partners with various venues throughout New Orleans to mount photography exhibitions in conjunction with the festival. If you are interested in participating as an exhibiting artist, please complete our Exhibitions Proposal Form by October 4, 2021. If we find an appropriate space for your work, we will put you in touch with that venue.
Submit an Exhibition Listing
If you have secured your own venue for a photo-based exhibition scheduled for the duration of PhotoNOLA, please submit the information using our Exhibitions Listings Form . We are excited to consider the work of photographers of all skill levels for inclusion on our exhibitions map. The deadline to submit is October 18 , 2021.
Late listings will be accepted till November 22, 2021 with an extra $50 fee. These listings may not be published on the printed PhotoNOLA Map, but will be listed online.
For opportunities to enter your work in juried exhibitions, please check our Calls for Entries page. As exhibition calls related to the festival become available, they will be shared here.
***Please note that PhotoNOLA (coordinated by the New Orleans Photo Alliance) does not have a budget for producing, traveling or installing exhibitions.***
Attend the Artist Portfolio Review
The PhotoNOLA Portfolio Review is open to photographers on a first come, first served basis. PhotoNOLA is not a juried review, however participants should be emerging to mid-career level photographers, with a solid body of work and a history of exhibitions and/or publications. ** More info to follow.
- While selected exhibitions are obligated to run during the entirety of the Festival, December 8-12, 2021, most exhibits run the entire month of December.
- PhotoNOLA (coordinated by the New Orleans Photo Alliance) does not have a budget for producing, shipping, or installing exhibitions. Artists are responsible for the expenses and labor involved in installing an exhibition at available venues. Venues are welcome, but not obligated, to assist the artist with cost or labor of exhibiting.
- The handling of sales and commission should be agreed upon between the artist and venue. Paper agreements are encouraged. PhotoNOLA does not accept responsibility for any damages accrued by work or the venue during the exhibition
