Collective World Art Community presents Debra Federico’s pen and pencil enhanced digital photographs alongside Brittany Smith’s moody black and white toy studies.

From Smith’s artist statement: “…I saw how deserted the toy appeared. It made me think of my childhood and how I always wanted to be grown already. I feel I was never meant to be a child; I was never really happy, so fearful and self-conscious, so defeated for a person of so few years.

With these images from my Toys series, I hope to evoke a feeling of nostalgia tinged with an eerie darkness. They are toys of your childhood; frozen in time the lie or stand where you last left them, awaiting a child’s imaginative touch, a touch we can no longer provide.”
