About the Louisiana World Tour:
In 2011, I embarked on a three year odyssey traveling to small towns with international names. Inspiration was a hope; mental clarity was another. In the end, I got both of those things and so much more. I visited over twenty faraway places including Venice, Athens, Hamburg and China, without every leaving my home state. Traveling around Louisiana’s rich and diverse geographic landscape, I gained spiritual insights in Delhi; I faced my fears in Transylvania, and, guided by the wisdom of Winnie the Pooh, found The Way out of the forest in Copenhagen. What better companion to have with me on this globe-trotting expedition than my trusty 35mm camera (and digital camera, phone, tablet, etc.) to illustrate and explore the idea that the world is as large or as small as we want it to be. How we choose to perceive it is entirely up to us. – Natasha Sanchez
BIO
Natasha Sanchez is a photographic artist, songwriter, performer and educator exploring, sharing and always inspired by the vast richness of our world. Her photographic works use a variety of mediums to share her worldview – 35mm film, recycled photographic paper to create lumen prints, and now more than a smidge of digital. She chronicles her path in song by writing clever and thoughtful tunes that she performs as a solo acoustic act and in one-woman shows, which feature her storytelling and photography. When she’s not searching for Himalaya, Louisiana, performing or making sun prints around the world, she lives and creates in New Orleans, Louisiana.
