Susan Burnstine Gallery Talk
Susan Burnstine will present a gallery talk offering insights into her exhibition “Within Shadows”. She will walk viewers through the gallery, discussing her evocative photographs and the thoughts and intentions behind them. The presentation will include a sideshow with additional images plus a peek at her unique process; sharing pictures of her homemade camera collection assembled out of plastic, vintage camera parts and random household objects.

Burnstine was the second place winner of the 2008 PhotoNOLA Review Prize. Her dream-like B&W photographs suggest myth and memory in a voice that is both personal and universal.

Bio:
Susan Burnstine is an award winning fine art and commercial photographer originally from Chicago now based in Los Angeles. Susan is represented in galleries across the country, widely published throughout the world and has also written for several photography magazines, including a monthly column for Black and White Photography Magazine (UK). Susan is the recipient of various awards including B&W Magazine’s 2008 Portfolio Spotlight Award. Most recently she was nominated for the 2009 Santa Fe Prize for Photography.
