During PhotoNOLA, Louisiana Green Corps (LAGC) is partnering with the Stella Jones Art Gallery to showcase and sell photography framed in salvaged wood frames made by Louisiana Green Corps youth participants. The exhibit will show works that illuminate the interaction between people and the urban environment. Works by EPaul Julien, Harold Baquet, Skip Bolen, Jamal Pierre, and Erin Krall include themes of urban decay; construction and restoration efforts; urban environmentalism/ conservation; and sustainability.
The event is both an art show and a fundraising event for Louisiana Green Corps to continue its work with youth training and education. While all are welcome at general admission (6-9pm), patrons are encouraged to attend the LAGC Patron Party from 5-6pm to show support for Louisiana Green Corps, NOLA youth, and restoration efforts. For a small fee, Patrons will get early entrance, a special cocktail, food, and a small frame made from salvaged material by youth participants.
The event will also include a raffle, drinks, and hors d’oeuvres. Guests may buy the artwork, individual frames, or place custom orders. Patron tickets available online for $35.
