Pictures of the Year International is the oldest and most prestigious photojournalism program in the world. Each year, magazine, newspaper, and freelance photographers around the globe document news events, political trends, and social issues that capture our interest and demand our attention. A panel of prestigious visual journalists serves as judges during a three-week review at the Missouri School of Journalism, presenting 268 awards for photography, photo editing and multimedia. This exhibition serves as a historical mirror on our society that goes beyond journalistic representation and pays tribute to all working photojournalists worldwide.
