Photographs from the Musee Conti
December 8, 2016 – January 29, 2017
Opening: Thursday, Dec 8, 6-10pm

“See Napoleon in his bath!” was The Musee Conti Wax Museum’s tagline for years as a titillating hint at what to expect inside. Revived here in black and white photographs, Napoleon and a costumed Enrico Caruso share wall space with portraits of other realistic beeswax effigies that doubled for dead celebrities, costumed fictional characters and lurid local history protagonists. The show goes on!
