A look at an early photographic process in the hands of four contemporary photographers. Tintype, Ambrotype, Alumitype–all are part of the wet plate collodian tradition, producing singular images without negatives. Portraits, still-life, landscapes, and a process called “photogenic drawing” will all be presented. Featuring works by Euphus Ruth, Jenny Sampson, S. Gayle Stevens and Bruce Schultz.
Wet Plate Demo
In celebration of PhotoNOLA, please join us on Sunday, December 11th at 1pm for a special wet-plate collodian demonstration by featured photographers Bruce Schultz and Euphus Ruth.
Both photographers will be available to make portrait/tintypes after the demo. This event is free and open to the public.
