“Home James and Don’t Spare The Horses” attempts to render a sense of place to Gulf Coast Louisiana through autobiographical memories grounded in the idea of Home.

Like a strong southern storyteller, the pinhole process was chosen because it allows the viewer an infinite depth of visible information into the image while holding back secrets through its natural characteristics of distortion, soft focus and artifact; creating visual tension and curiosity within the scenes.

David Armentor a lens-based artist who has been working in the still photography medium since 2002. All of his work falls under one main project titled “Mais Yeah/Yeah Ya Right,” which has many different approaches towards capturing the culture and place of Gulf Coast Louisiana with a specific focus on New Orleans and Acadiana.
