Glory in Decay:: Margaret Crosby
Opening Reception: Saturday, December 12th, 12p- 2pm
Glory of Decay is an underwater photography series celebrating a Louisiana landscape that is often overlooked. Swamps are an environmental representation of decomposition and are often associated with stagnation and darkness. But in reality, swamps are a constant reminder of regeneration and life. By delving below the surface of the Louisiana water, I capture otherworldly landscapes that celebrate the processes that accompany humankind throughout our lives. Glory of Decay highlights an active and ever-changing world that is a reflection of our own existence.
BIO
Margaret Crosby draws her inspiration from a very specific place: at the crossroads of her background in herbalism, psychology and Eastern religious studies. She is perpetually interested in the lessons that Mother Nature teaches us about our own behaviors and our role in the web of interconnectedness of all beings. Through her art, she delves into the space where inner and outer landscapes meet— a place where the line between human and nature dissolves into a symbiotic relationship: where the elements spark a resonance from within.
