Exploring Format: A Hands-on Tour of Walker Evans Exhibition with Vintage Cameras

A tour of the exhibition, Walker Evans’ Louisiana: Photographs from the Collection of Jessica Lange, with a focus on how the format of the film and camera have an impact on a photographer’s work. There will be a selection of vintage cameras to explore along with a demonstration of how a large-format (a 4×5 Speed Graphic) camera works, samples of negatives contact prints, and a discussion of how using an 8×10 camera contributed to the content and style of Evans’ photographs.
