Pablove Shutterbugs:
photographs by kids + teens living with cancer
October 23, 2014 – December 13, 2014
Opening: Thursday, Oct 23, 6-10pm
This exhibit features photographs by the New Orleans graduates of Pablove Shutterbugs, The Pablove Foundation’s photography program for children and teens living with cancer.
The mission of The Pablove Foundation is to invest in underfunded, cutting-edge pediatric cancer research, inspire cancer families through education, and improve the lives of children living with cancer through the arts.
In an educational setting, children and teens learn how to tell stories through photographs using perspective, light, composition and technique. Each student receives hands on experience by participating in a community of learners that study and learn from a professional teaching artist, volunteers—and from each other.
Students are encouraged to use photography as a tool for self-expression and empowerment at a time in their lives when so much is uncertain.
This gallery show is a celebration of their achievements.
