The New Orleans Photo Alliance (NOPA), in partnership with Ogden Museum of Southern Art, is proud to announce CURRENTS 2023, its annual members showcase exhibition. CURRENTS 2023 will be on display at Ogden Museum during PhotoNOLA, the annual festival of photography produced by the New Orleans Photo Alliance. The 15th annual exhibition, designed to highlight the diverse work being created by NOPA members, will present images by 19 photographers.

CURRENTS 2023 will be on display at Ogden Museum of Southern Art from December 15, 2016 – January 29, 2023. An opening reception will be held on Friday, December 15th from 5 – 9pm featuring a Jurors Talk with Jacob Moscovitch at 6:30pm. 

The exhibition was curated by Jacob Moscovitch (he/they) is a queer first-generation photo editor at New York Magazineon working on a range of editing projects for the Culture and News desks. Previously, he was a photo editor at The New York Times and the Los Angeles Times.

Before becoming an editor, Jacob was a documentary and portrait photographer exploring themes of identity, youth, family and the LGBTQ+ community. His photography has been recognized by College Photographer of the Year and Picture of the Year International, and he was named Student Photographer of the Year by the White House News Photographers Association.

Jacob holds a Bachelor’s in Journalism from the Missouri School of Journalism and also studied at the Danish School of Media and Journalism.
