Charles Muir Lovell: Image Maker shares the working studio of a New Orleans artist who has been making photographs for 50 years. The exhibition in this Algiers Point photography studio features work from 1973 to the present of photographs from different periods and locations. Charles Muir Lovell’s passion is photographing people within their cultures and documenting a culture’s mark on their environment. His photographs have been exhibited nationally and internationally, are found in several museum permanent collections, and can be seen at CharlesLovell.com. He received the Michael P. Smith Award for Documentary Photography in 2020 from the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities. He holds an MFA and a BS in photography, from Central Washington University and East Texas State University, respectively.
