Bruce Schultz – Tintype Portrait Sessions

Bruce Schultz will be offering custom Tintype Portraits as well as Tintype Tutorials at Scott Edwards Photography Studio & Gallery during PhotoNOLA 2014.
Portrait Sessions start at $50 and participants will receive an original tintype. Appointments are welcome and will receive a 15% discount. Costumes encouraged, but not required.
Bruce will also be offering Personal Tintype Tutorials. Photographers interested in learning the basic tintype process can gain real hands on experience in shooting and processing there own tintypes. Photographers will create an original tintype, using Bruce’s equipment. Tutorials are $100 and are a one hour minimum. Tutorials are available both days.
Bruce will be available on Friday, Dec. 5 and Saturday, Dec. 6, from noon – 8pm on both days. Please call the gallery to book an appointment in advance.
About the Artist
Bruce Schultz has been hooked on wet-plate collodion since April 2007. He specializes in civil war reenactments, but loves a challenge and will photograph any event with wet-plate photography. Schultz also conducts demonstrations of the process for schools, libraries and other similar institutions.
Schultz began in photography more than 30 years ago while a student at LSU, working for the yearbook and newspaper. From there, he served as a reporter at the Alexandria, La., Daily Town Talk. He also worked as a photographer for the Shreveport Times, then moved to Lafayette, La., to head up the Acadiana bureau for the Baton Rouge Advocate where he worked for 23 years. Schultz currently works for the LSU AgCenter Communications Department, writing about and photographing Louisiana agriculture.
