Brent Houzenga: Vigilante’s Lens

Vigilante’s Lens features new work by New Orleans Artist Brent Houzenga. The exhibition will include original instant and film photography, photograms, as well as new paintings and assemblage. Each piece in the exhibition looks at the popular idea of masked or costumed adventurers through the blurred lens of memory. Whether through the constraints of his instant camera or the intention of the artist in his painting, each figure becomes blurry or indistinct through process. Memories fade and become abstract. Although there is a bit of nostalgia at play, the artist can only try to put memories back together.
