Four Realz: Quadrascopic Imagery and Animated Giffery
Behold! The first exhibition of Wigglegrams in the real world, free from the pixellated shackles of the internet!
A Wigglegram is born when a 3D film camera makes love with the internet. Bob does this by taking photos with the Nimslo, an early 80s camera that sports a whopping 4 lenses. Then he transmogrifies these shots into an animated GIF, the internet’s earliest indigenous art form. When you combine this eternal digital loop with analog film’s glorious range of color and detail (and not to mention scratches and dust marks), you get the wholly singular Wigglegram — a perfect combination of old and new and me and you.
Bob Weisz is an internationally known man-about-town. A recently-ordained level 95 Internet Wizard, Bob enjoys long walks down youtube k-holes, pizza parties, non-pizza parties, the art of fabricating Buzzfeed articles, movies with good endings, TV shows with no end, dog art, and art dogs. Past projects include being on the creative team of Oscar-nominated film Beasts of the Southern Wild; making music videos for MGMT, Big Freedia, Nicky da B, and Das Racist; layout and design for Momma Tried magazine; and innovating the glitch-art technique of Datamoshing. FOUR REALZ is a project over 5 years in the making, and one very dear to Bob’s heart. It will one day be known as his swan song.
