Bob Weisz: Four Realz
December 1 – 31, 2015
Opening: Saturday, Dec 12, 7-10pm
Four Realz: Quadrascopic Imagery and Animated Giffery
Behold! The first exhibition of Wigglegrams in the real world, free from the pixellated shackles of the internet!
A Wigglegram is born when a 3D film camera makes love with the internet. Bob does this by taking photos with the Nimslo, an early 80s camera that sports a whopping 4 lenses. Then he transmogrifies these shots into an animated GIF, the internet’s earliest indigenous art form. When you combine this eternal digital loop with analog film’s glorious range of color and detail (and not to mention scratches and dust marks), you get the wholly singular Wigglegram — a perfect combination of old and new and me and you.
