Still/Motion: The Festival of Photography in Film photography at its intersection with cinema, especially as it relates to other fascinating subjects: history, mystery, family, humanity, global and local environment, and cutout animation. This one-day festival at the Broad Theater showcases three feature films, one Louisiana short film, and a special event with New Orleans filmmaker Simon Blake. Special guests include Dr. Olivia Cosentino of Tulane University, and PhotoNOLA award recipient and short film subject Ben Depp. The films feature photographic works of Sebastião Salgado, Robert Capa, Gerda Taro, David “Chim” Seymour, Joel-Peter Witkin, and Ben Depp. Festival sponsors: the Vampire Cafe and the Department of Communication and Cinema Studies Program at Tulane University via the Maurice L. Silverstein Film Studies Lectureship Grant.
