Sebastião Salgado’s photographs serve as a record of the deepest levels of the human condition on our planet. After nearly 30 years of photographing workers, migrations, and Africa, Salgado has turned his eye to the earth’s beauty in a series titled, “Genesis.” This exhibit will include photographs spanning Sebastião Salgado’s career, from 1975-2010.
Sebastião Salgado was born in Brazil in 1944. His education and early employment began in economics. In 1971, while working in London as an economist, he travelled to Africa where he took his first photographs. He moved to Paris with his wife in 1973 to begin his life as a photographer.
