Join Benjamin Hickey of the Hilliard Art Museum and artist Richard Sexton in this workshop designed to teach how to edit and sequence photographs for a portfolio.
Limited to 12 in-person participants, bring along your work in print (preferred) or digital form. Perhaps you are attending the PhotoNOLA reviews beginning the next day and want to get the sequence of your photographs just right – sequencing is often a lost or overlooked art that is nonetheless crucial in terms of the impression you leave on reviewers.
In this session, Benjamin and Richard will not only provide useful tips and suggestions, and cite examples, but they will work with live attendees on their portfolios. Most importantly, you will not only learn about your own work through this process, but by seeing how various different portfolios can be edited or sequenced to convey different meaning and impact, you will learn how to present your own work in the future.

PLUS – you will have archived recording access to the other two mini-workshops once the videos are edited and made ready.
In addition, you will be able to attend, two more in-person events in the afternoon: The Ins and Outs of Photographic Archives with Mary Engel and Panel: Community and Collaboration Through Uncertain Times featuring various industry experts. These will also be recorded for archive viewing at a later date.
Make an entire day of it or attend just one and review the recordings later.

The cost to attend is the same for in-person and virtual and includes archival access to all 5 events for one, low price. All net proceeds go to the non-profit New Orleans Photo Alliance.
