Zinemaking is a powerful, democratized platform that can clear your creative block, jump-start stalled projects and can help get your work out into the world.
During this lecture-style presentation, creators at all skill levels will learn the basics of layout, construction, and binding a photo zine. Jeff will provide participants with a kit of supplies, templates and other goodies that can be used later to make a zine.
During the session, you will
- Take a tour of the zine universe, exploring the freshest new work by contemporary zine makers
- Learn the fundamentals of photo zine design and construction
- Learn how to use the provided kit materials to make a zine later
- Explore printing, publishing and selling options for your zines
Who should attend?
This workshop will benefit photographers and visual artists interested in contemporary zine-making and/or utilizing zine-making as a stepping stone for their next project or book. This is a lecture-style workshop so no prior materials are necessary.
