King Tides
Michel Varisco
December 4, 2021-January 22, 2022
King Tides, a photographic installation by Michel Varisco in the library of M.S. Rau, imagines a future where sea level rise has overtaken the land. King tides are the highest tides experienced in coastal cities; they occur when the earth, moon, and sun are all in alignment and the gravitational pull is at its strongest. What happens when the King tides are ever more frequent—or even continual—as predicted in the year 2050 in New Orleans?
