Cig Harvey Lecture
Lecture & Book Signing: Sunday, Dec 13, 11:30am
THNOC Williams Research Center
Free and open to the public
Cig Harvey’s narrative photographs are celebrated for their luminous color, natural light, and lush scenery. While drawing on traditions of portraiture and landscape, Harvey exceeds the conventions of these genres, using metaphor and symbol to explore personal identity and the concept of home. “Story telling has always been the primary inspiration for my pictures,” Harvey has said, adding, “They explore a magic in the world while having one foot very much placed in reality.”
In this lecture Cig Harvey will present selections from various projects, sharing the stories behind the images and insights into her work and process.
