PhotoNOLA Gala & Auction
Le Petit Theatre & Brennan’s Tableau
Thursday, Dec 12th
Patron Party 6-7pm
Keynote 7-8pm
Black & White Gala 8-10pm
Join us for PhotoNOLA’s 19th Anniversary Gala, hosted at Brennan’s Tableau in the heart of the historic French Quarter on Thursday, December 12th. Our soirée invites patrons and photography enthusiasts to dress in black-and-white attire for a night celebrating community and photography.
The evening begins with a patron reception where locals will join PhotoNOLA’s esteemed group of invited national photo curators, gallerists, editors, publishers and collectors. Enjoy delicious Louisiana cuisine and libations, take photos with new friends in a fun photobooth and enjoy music by the Russell Welch Jazz Trio and a few songs from NOPA President Sunpie Barnes on his accordion.
Keynote Talk by Baldwin Lee at the historic Le Petit Théâtre, adjacent to Tableau. Baldwin Lee, whose profound photographs document Black communities across the American South in the 1980s, will share insights into his creative process and his powerful body of work. His images, created with a 4×5 view camera, provide an intimate and compassionate look at life in the South, blending striking portraits with evocative landscapes and still-life scenes. Lee’s photographs, currently on view at the Ogden Museum of Southern Art, are a testament to his artistic brilliance and the enduring relevance of his perspective.
After the keynote, the celebration continues at Brennan’s Tableau for a gala fundraiser benefiting PhotoNOLA and the New Orleans Photo Alliance. Highlights of the evening include:
- Live music by Russel Welch Jazz Quartet
- A photobooth for capturing memories of the evening.
- A silent auction and raffle featuring collectible photographic prints and exclusive experiences.
- A mingling of photographers, curators, collectors, and art lovers in an atmosphere of creativity and connection.
This is your chance to support the future of PhotoNOLA while enjoying an unforgettable evening in one of New Orleans’ most enchanting settings.
Black and white attire is encouraged to honor the evening’s theme and celebrate the beauty of the photographic medium.
Reserve your spot today and be part of this extraordinary night of culture, music, and artistry. Together, let’s make the 19th PhotoNOLA Festival an event to remember.
