| Description of Exhibition: | |
| “Still Life in New Orleans” is a new project by Ryan Hodgson-Rigsbee. The series isolates objects of cultural and historical importance to New Orleans and enshrines them in a floral still life that is a celebration and memorial. The plants are all collected from gardens, neutral grounds, and wild areas of the city. They are assembled and photographed by RHR as a study of shapes, textures, colors, light, composition, and symbology.
A public outdoor exhibit of the work will be up December 1, 2026 through Spring 2027 at NOCCA’s Garden at 800 Homer Plessy Way (formerly Press Street) in New Orleans. There will be an opening event at the garden on December 5, 2026. The exhibit has been made possible with funding from NOTCF and Jazz and Heritage Foundation. |
