Southern hospitality refers to the warm, welcoming, and courteous behavior that is traditionally associated with the southern United States, particularly in social interactions. This cultural practice emphasizes generosity, kindness, and an open-hearted approach to local community members and visitors alike.
In New Orleans, Southern hospitality reflects a culture steeped in tradition, family ties, and community cohesion. Some of These values are manifested through communal gatherings such as second lines, social clubs, car clubs, mardi gras, and family gatherings where individuals would come together to fellowship, share food and stories. These values are also manifested through the service and hospitality industry.
In this group exhibition the photographers collectively share their perspectives which emphasize
the values of Southern Hospitality and community spirit that embody the New Orleans experience.
