“breath of song” is a joint exhibition featuring Camille Farrah Lenain, our 2024 Michael P. Smith Fund for Documentary Photography winner, and Kennedi Carter, our 2024 PhotoNOLA Review Prize winner. Their work in conversation offers two distinct approaches to portraiture, narrative, and the evolving language of photographic storytelling. This exhibition will be hosted at Arthur Roger Gallery, with an opening reception on December 6th at 6pm, and a salon conversation with the artists Shana M. Griffen on December 12th at 3:30pm.
Alongside these honored artists, the exhibition includes new and recent work by Daymon Gardner, Hunter Holder, Jason Kerzinski, Leslye Kohl, Charles Lovell, Colin Roberson, and Meg Turner. Together, the artists reflect the breadth of photographic expression found across the Gulf South and beyond, ranging from documentary and environmental portraiture to conceptual and experimental image-making.
