Framing the future, redeeming the past
During PhotoNOLA, Louisiana Green Corps (LAGC) is partnering with the Stella Jones Art Gallery to showcase and sell photography framed in salvaged wood frames made by Louisiana Green Corps youth participants. The exhibit will show works that illuminate the interaction between people (particularly youth) and the urban environment. LAGC is particularly interested in submissions featuring themes of urban decay; construction and restoration efforts; urban environmentalism/ conservation; and sustainability (i.e. the capacity to endure). The event is both an art show and a fundraising event for Louisiana Green Corps to continue its work with youth training and education.
Framing the future, redeeming the past will host a handful of artists, each with a small portfolio for about 30 prints, depending on artwork sizes. Final artwork dimensions must be no greater than 16” x 20”.
Conditions: Photos will be framed by Louisiana Green Corps in salvaged wood frames. During opening night, sales will be split between artist, SJ Gallery, and LAGC. For the rest of the month-long exhibit, photo sales will be split between the Gallery and the artist.

Submission Deadline and Details:
Artist should electronically submit a portfolio of 5-10 pieces by August 6th 2012. Each piece should include identification description, title, year created, and final dimensions. Final artwork dimensions must be no greater than 16” x 20”. Email portfolio with the subject line “LAGC Exhibit Submission – Artist Name”. Images should be jpg format at the highest resolution. Name files with last name then first name then image title using separating underscores e.g. “Doe_John_ImageTitle.jpg.”.
Selection and Notification:
Artists will be notified by Aug. 13th 2012. Selected artwork must arrive by August 20th 2012.
