CALL FOR ENTRIES: PhotoBOMB
In conjunction with PhotoNOLA 2013, PhotoBomb will be exhibited at The Front, a gallery located in the St. Claude Arts District in New Orleans. The exhibition will run from December 14th, 2013 –January 5th, 2014, with an opening reception on Saturday, December 14th and an artist/curator talk on Sunday, December 15th. PhotoBomb will be curated by artists and educators Lee Deigaard and AnnieLaurie Erickson.
THEME
They are looking for photographic works that make creative use of interventions, disruptions, accidents, or inciting events. This could involve the use of systematic processes, or it could be the result of total happenstance. They are interested in seeing images that are unexpected, innovative or visually explosive.
DATES
• Saturday, October 5th: Deadline for submissions
• Late-October: Entrants will be notified of jurors’ decision
• Saturday, December 14th: Exhibition opens
• Sunday, December 15th: Artist/Curator Talk
• Sunday, January 5th: Exhibition closes
SUBMISSIONS
All types of photographic and lens-based work will be considered, including video. Up to 5 submissions may be submitted. No entry fee is required. Digital files should be saved as JPEGs and sized at 72 dpi and 1000 pixels for the longest side. All files must be titled with last name and first name of the artist, plus the image number, (e.g. Doe_Jane_1.jpg). Video submissions must be provided via a working link to view online.
Please include a separate document (word file or pdf) containing the Title Information (Title, Year, Media, Dimensions) corresponding to the image numbers, and a short Statement about the work (150 words). You may also include a url to a website of your work for additional reference (optional). Please send only one text document with your images.
Entrants will be informed of the jurors’ choices in late-October. Artists will receive 100% of any sales. Artists are responsible for delivery and return of all selected work. Accepted entries must arrive with sufficient return postage or clearly be designated for pick up in person. If sufficient postage is not included, or if the work is left beyond the pickup date, The Front will not be responsible. Only submissions that follow the guidelines will be considered.
