If you are unable to attend the auction in person, and wish to place bids, you may submit an absentee bid online, allowing our representatives to bid on your behalf. During the auction our representatives will try to purchase the lot or lots of your choice for the lowest price possible, and never for more than the top amount you indicate. This service is free and confidential.

Please fill out this form by entering a maximum bid for each print you are interested in. Use numbers only - no dollar signs ($) - when entering your bid amounts. After the form has been submitted we will get in touch with you to secure your bid with a credit card number.

    Terms and Conditions:
    Conditions for Bidding: Absentee bids are accepted as legal and binding contracts to purchase the described items. Successful bidders will be notified on the day following the auction via email or by phone. The balance of purchase price will be charged out immediately. Unsuccessful bidders will not be notified.

    Bids are entered for the lowest amount then incrementally raised using the prevailing increments. For example: a $200 bid might start out a $50.00 and be raised by $10.00 increments up to, but not exceeding, the maximum bid amount. We will purchase for you at the lowest incremental price.

    In the event that an absentee or phone representative fails to execute an absentee or phone bid (regardless of reason) the representative and/or NOPA will not be held responsible for any actual or imagined losses incurred.

    Buyer’s Premium: The “top limit” you indicate on your bid form is for the hammer price only. Please keep in mind that a 10% buyer’s premium will be added to the successful bid price of each lot you buy and is payable by you, together with the applicable sales tax which is applied to the total cost of your purchase (the total cost includes the buyer’s premium).

    Warranties: Determination of the age, condition, quality, authenticity, value, purported history, or classification of all items offered and sold (regardless of what is said or written) is the sole responsibility of the buyer/purchaser and under no circumstances can an item be returned except for the following reasons: In the event of a disputed misrepresentation of the product, the successful bidder has exactly 30 days from the day of the sale to notify the New Orleans Photo Alliance. After 30 days all sales are final. NOPA reserves the right to require a written statement from a recognized expert in the field declaring that the item is not as represented.

    Breach of Purchase: If the purchaser fails to pay in full the total purchase price of all items for which he/she was the highest bidder within 15 days of the sale, NOPA may exercise all legal rights and remedies which may include: terminating the sale and applying any payments made by the purchaser to the damages caused by the purchaser’s breach, and/or reoffering these items without any reserve at public auction and holding the purchaser liable for any deficiency plus the costs of reselling the items.

    Shipping & Taxes: Purchases will be available for shipment upon receipt of payment. The successful bidder is responsible for arrangement of all shipping and associated costs, including insurance. The successful bidder is responsible for payment of 9% state sales tax (when applicable). Final removal date is 10 days from auction. A list of local shippers will be provided upon request.
