This is a one-night performance of witty ditties and sharp photography that chronicles the Nattie Concepts World Tour through exotic locations including Algiers, Transylvania, and Delhi – all in Louisiana. Songs, stories, and photographs are blended together in this short performance piece to create musical snapshots of a truly universal world.

Andy Levin of 100Eyes invites photographers down to the Lost Love Lounge to share work for fun and feedback. Open Projection Night participants should bring a disc of 20 images, sized at 72dpi and 1080 pixels wide. This event is free and open to the public. No advance registration is necessary and all are invited – you need not show work to attend.

Originals and prints of artwork will be for sale with proceeds benefiting Kids Camera Project’s photography workshops in Central City and Ninth Ward neighborhoods. All purchases are tax deductible. Our program provides a venue for growth and recovery by giving children tangible skills, a way to voice their concerns through artistic mediums and the opportunity to take ownership of the creative revitalization of their own community.

Artfully AWARE (AfA) is a global not for profit established in the United States and in the United Kingdom that uses the arts as an important tool for social improvement and emotional recovery of persons who have experienced traumatic events, disabilities or living conditions. We are a member of the United Nations Global Compact, and our board of directors and advisors serve in leadership capacities with organizations including the Aspen Cancer Conference, The Hunger Project, Council of American Ambassadors, United Nations Fund for Women and USAID.

We implement a range of educational arts programs locally, nationally and internationally, in order to promote empowerment, cultural understanding and enable individual and community development. Our work provides the opportunity to create arts projects, exhibitions, performances and educational curriculum. All programs draw on five major categories: drama, dance, music, media and visual arts.

Slideluck Potshow New Orleans II will be a kickoff event at this year’s PhotoNOLA festival. It will take place at The Big Room of Generations Hall, a former sugar refinery built in the 1820s and located in the Warehouse/Arts District.

If you’re unfamiliar with Slideluck Potshow: it’s essentially a potluck followed by an hour to 90-minute uniquely curated presentation of slideshows, with one artist’s body of work following another. To get a better idea, see last year’s slideshows and read PopPhoto’s article on SLPS.

The evening will also include a polaroid photo booth with Michael Donnor, music by DJ Diagnosis, and live graffiti. Additionally, artwork by Christian Taylor, Kate Hanrahan, Michael Cain, and other locals will be on display.

This event is in partnership with Hollygrove Market and Farm, a community-owned non-profit store and training farm that sells, among other things, locally grown organic produce as well as locally sourced organic dairy and meats. They will generously be providing dishes for the potluck made from the products they sell at their store. For more information on the potluck, click here.
